Naya kyu hi khareedna 😱 when you can breathe life into something old, something treasured! I needed 2 chairs 🪑 to compliment my “cloud table”, so nikala ye purane chairs apne pitaare se aur de diya inko ek luxurious DIY makeover ✨
Sometimes the inspiration is right in front of you! My newest addition in studio @jblindia Authentics 300 speaker 🔈 served as the perfect mood board here. The whole retro design in black & gold handle helped me choose my colour palette and the Quadrex grille sealed my decision for cane webbing. Upar se ye speaker is sustainably made with 100% recycled fabric, 85% recycled plastic & 50% aluminium, toh maine bhi try kiya to upcycle things as much was possible 🌿
And don’t you even get me started on the sound quality🥹 It comes with a 5.25 inch woofer, wireless hai, portable hai aur JBL One App se music customisation ka option bhi hai. Aur kya chahiye boss! Go give it a quick check, you’ll love it.
Here’s a breakdown of the DIY-
➡️ Prepping is most important for any furniture restoration. Use wood filler to fill cracks, sand the surface & clean ache se.
➡️ For painting I used Chalk paints by Annie Sloan in the shade “GRAPHITE”. 2 coats lagana and then seal it with clear wax. I dry brushed black wax on top to highlight corners & features.
➡️ Gold leafing chair legs pe kiya with gilding metal leaf. Thoda sa tricky part hai ye as the sheets are very thin, but watch a video online, you’ll get the trick. Added black wax here as well.
➡️ Sides and back par either you can get traditional weaving done ya fir quick DIY solution chahiye toh webbing sheet laga dena with wooden trims.
➡️ Lastly, had my bouclè fabric left, iski seats bana di using plywood and some foam sheet.
